I began my entrepreneurship at the age of 18. Since then, I've been experiencing in the fields of marketing, beauty, social media marketing, copyrighting and so much more. Today, at 21 I have written my own book, launched a blog (for the second time) and have been blessed enough to meet new faces every single day and help them achieve their dream life. I have become obsessed with learning and continuously growing in all areas of my life. I have been blessed to have learned and achieve so much already that all I want to do is turn around and give it back to others.
With that being said, here are some of my tips for my young entrepreneur babes looking to start their journey, have financial freedom, and take control of their lives.
Keep Good Company Around.
Surround yourself with others who are doing better off than you are. It's well known to practice improving a skill with someone who is already familiar with said skill.. such as learning a sport, how to dance, poker, you get it. If you are surrounding yourself with a bunch of negative nancy's, chances are you will become one too. "You're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with." Do yourself a favor and surround yourself around a group of individuals who can challenge you and help you grow.
Improving Self Confidence.
No more negative self talk. Self-confidence plays en extremely important roll in the workplace and it's time to stop letting it get in the way. In order to start taking steps towards having 100% self-confidence is accepting that failure will happen. And it's okay. Worst case, your project doesn't work out however you still gained experience and learned what doesn't work. You will never lose by failing.
Stay Consistent.
It's so important for entrepreneurs to stay consistent to not only achieve success but also so you can gradually get better over time. You need to show up every single day and consistently put in the work needed, and not stop when you hit a speed bump in your business or project. Perfectionism will be your worst enemy when it comes to your work. You need to continue stronger each time even after you failed. This is the beauty of entrepreneurship.
Utilize Your Resources.
It's time to branch out of your comfort zone. Start attending startup events- Eventbrite is a good place to start. Network with others in the same field of work you are looking to grow in, and grab lunch! Invest in courses and ebooks. Reach out to individuals on Linkedin and ask about their experiences and if they have any advice for you! You want to be constantly gaining useful knowledge as often as possible and using your skills to get better.
Believe In Yourself
Being a young entrepreneur, it may be a little harder to get others to take you seriously. You know what I like to say to that?
Fearing not being "legit" enough is no longer a valid reason to not pursue your dreams. If you have a passion and a purpose, you owe it to yourself to go at it headstrong. You've got this. Whatever you do though, do it right and with passion.
