Most of us have experienced a lack of motivation. You know, when you have an entire list of things you should be doing but instead you're scrolling endlessly through Instagram. Many of us have to work extra hard to get out of our motivational slumps. This can turn in to an extremely vicious cycle that can cause your business (and yourself) to suffer.

Don't worry, we all have been there- but staying there is the issue. If you have big dreams yet have big issues with staying motivated then you have a big problem.

It's okay to have off days here and there. Taking a personal day to refresh yourself, or even just grabbing a snack and enjoying the day from your bed is okay. Just don't make it a habit to excuse yourself from your responsibilities.

How To Stay Motivated And Be Your Own Fucking Boss

Continuously Learn.

Read as much as you can and continuously do your research.  The more information you take in and can learn from, the more confident you will be in your work and can take on new projects. This can mean investing in courses, meeting with a mentor, and of course listening to podcasts instead of music in the car. Just keep gaining as much valuable knowledge as possible. TGFG. (thank god for google)

Accept That You Will Fail Here and There.

Failure will always be in the mixture. Fear of failure is a failure in itself because it will be the one thing that can hold you back from everything you've ever wanted (and could have had.)

Make Your Goals Visible.

Placing your goals where you can view them daily is a great way to keep up your momentum. Placing them on the bathroom mirror, refrigerator, or a bedroom wall are all good spots to consider. Viewing them daily will help keep you on track but be careful not to overdue it... Don't write yourself a long ass list of goals to accomplish in an hour. It's not going to happen. Keep it realistic yet ambitious.

Start With What's Important.

Out of your list of goals, pick the top 3 most important ones. The ones that are going to help you out in the long run. Knocking those out early in the morning before anything else will ease your day up a bit. Save the smaller goals for after.

Stop Procrastinating.

Don't give yourself the time to mope around and not get shit done. The only person that is going to hurt is you. When things pop up that we necessarily don't feel like doing, don't give yourself the time of day to sit and ponder on it. Get up, get it done, then have a glass of wine because Whew!

Set Yourself Up For Success.

If you know you are about to have a long week ahead of you -or month even, make things easier on yourself by pre-planning. Whether that's planning your content out, getting more rest or even meal prepping to give yourself more time-  do it!

Visualize The Results.

According to a piece featured by Forbes, when trying to stay motivated it is best to visualize the end result and the feeling you will have when you accomplish said goal. On the days you are struggling with motivation, think about the happiness you will feel, or relief from stress that will come with this.

Have Your Own Work Space.

You made it out of bed, Go you! Now, it's time to get some work done... but where? It's so important to have your own clutter-free workspace where you won't get distracted or bothered. Maybe you want to get some fresh air or a change of scenery for today's tasks and that's okay too! Check to ensure the space you're headed to is shaded, has outlets for your electronics and a good vibe.

Cut Out The Distractions.

Even though we may work from our phones or laptops, they can be the #1 distraction when trying to get work done. I found deleting certain apps that keep me scrolling for hours really helps keep me on track when getting work done. You can always re-download them!

Know When To Stop

Okay, workaholics. I get it. We all have a lot of shit that needs to get done, at it may even feel like you're a tad bit behind. While working and getting things done is important, so is knowing when to shut off work mode at the end of the day. If you are always working, it's not going to be fun anymore and it can even start to take a toll on you and your loved ones around you. Try and get yourself on a schedule to end the workday at a certain time each day. This will help balance work and personal time.
